Asus and NordVPN team up to create integrated VPN routers – channelnews

Asus has partnered with NordVPN to create new network devices with built-in VPN.

Typically, a VPN requires installation on each device. This partnership will enable the creation of routers with built-in VPN functionality, eliminating the need for separate software on each device.

Additionally, it extends protection to devices that don’t typically support VPN software.

The first two routers to receive this integration are the Asus RT-AX57 Go and the GT-AX11000 Pro.

The latter is a model that was designed especially for gamers.

Setting up the service is simple. The user only needs to access the router’s self-service.

Vykintas Maknickas, Head of Product Strategy at NordVPN, said: “Our goal is to contribute to a safer internet. By enabling easy setup of VPN services on routers, we can protect our customers’ entire networks.”

Tenlong Deng, Vice President and General Manager of Asus Network and Wireless Devices Division, said: “We are delighted to partner with NordVPN and integrate their service into our products. The built-in VPN configuration options provide users with a flexible and secure way to explore the Internet with complete privacy.”

NordVPN plans cost between $3.39 and $5.39 per month (around A$5-8).

The RT-AX57 Go is Wi-Fi 6 compatible and costs $227 at Office workwhile the GT-AX11000 Pro retails for AU$999 at JB Hi-Fi.
