Google has rolled out Android 15 Beta 4 which brings several bug fixes along with an important feature called ‘Device Diagnostics’. Using this tool, users can check their phone’s health, battery status, touchscreen potential, and various other details of the device.
The corresponding feature already appeared with the third test version of Android 15. Although Google has now made it available to everyone with the latest firmware.
Pixel users receiving the new Android 15 Beta 4 update will find the Device Diagnostics tool in the Settings app (second to last option). This feature includes two options that provide the current health data of your smartphone or tablet:
- Component health: The feature performs manual tests related to the device’s battery and storage status.
- Assessment method: Using one device to evaluate another device
The first option allows users to test the display settings. It displays a row of colored screens to easily detect defects such as weak pixels or degraded image quality in the display panel. One can also opt for testing the touchscreen, battery as well as storage of their phones.
The second option is the Assessment mode which will allow users to use a second device to perform these tests. The feature opens a QR code to connect the second device to the first and perform all the assessments mentioned above.
Users can even use this feature to test another device. It easily displays the results after performing all the tests and points out the precise points and hidden issues, if any.
It is worth noting that Pixel users already have the “diagnostic” option on their devices. They can simply dial *#*#7287#*#* in the Phone app to check for device issues. Although the new addition seems much more efficient and convenient.
