Technology is constantly evolving, but we can often get a glimpse of what’s to come in software. If you’re not afraid to live dangerously, Apple’s betas might just give you that.
It’s the middle of the year, and as we move towards September, there’s a good chance that updates will be coming to the devices you own.
An update for Android devices in the form of Android 15 is on the way, and that’s not all, almost all Apple devices will also receive an update in the coming months.
Everything that’s coming was announced at WWDC in June (which it wasn’t). that long ago), and was released in a beta version ready for developers to use so they could make their apps functional and compatible. Now, Apple is ready for regular people to try it out, although the caveat is that you’re still living a little dangerously.
Specifically, Apple has now put upcoming versions of its operating system into public beta, meaning people who aren’t worried about the occasional bug in pre-release software can get a taste of what’s coming before it officially arrives.
This includes iOS 18’s ability to truly personalize the phone experience, as well as the improvements that iPadOS 18 brings to Apple’s tablets. It also covers the next level of watchOS for Apple Watch, as well as tvOS 18 for Apple TV and macOS Sequoia for supported Macs.
It’s worth noting that public betas always have a very dangerous side, because even though they are less buggy than developer betas, they can still contain bugs. This can result in a crash here and there, overheating, or even a battery life that doesn’t last as long as it should.
Just a note if you want try these public betas for Apple devices and live a little on the edge.
