Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Beta Dates and More Revealed

Call of Duty: The official release date for Black Ops 6 is October 25, but before the retail version drops, the beta will give users a sneak peek at the game. On Monday, July 17, the official Call of Duty podcast revealed some valuable information about the upcoming game.

Here is a preview of the opening episode in its entirety.

For the first time in franchise history, the beta will launch simultaneously on all platforms (PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S). Customers who pre-ordered the game will have early access to the open beta starting August 30 and ending September 4. Others will have access starting September 6 and ending September 9.

Here is an overview of more specific availability times and dates:

Early Access:

  • Starts August 30 at 1pm ET
  • Ends September 4th at 1pm ET

Open Beta:

  • Starts September 6 at 1pm ET
  • Ends September 9 at 1pm ET

In addition to information on the beta dates, the podcast also shared information on the first visible gameplay for Zombies in Black Ops 6. It will be available on August 28th for Call of Duty Next.

Zombies have become one of the most popular ways to play COD. It’s hard to believe that at one point I wondered if it would be a concept that would stick around in the franchise.

There’s also new information about score streaks and omnimovement. Unlike what we saw with Cold War, Black Ops will be returning to more traditional score streak systems. It will reset every time you die.

Maybe it’s the old school COD player in me, but I’ve always preferred this setup.

As far as omnimotion goes, it seems to be here to stay.

So much so that it cannot be disabled, once this update is available in the new game it will be active in the campaign, MP, Zombies and Warzone.

While I’ve never proven myself to be particularly adept at wall running and other advanced parts of the game, I can respect the extra skills required to utilize these aspects.

I also like when Activision reminds users that the game is still fantasy based despite using many real weapons.

COD news has been constant this past week, with teasers for Season 5 last week, including an upcoming collaboration with WWE. CharlieIntel also dropped information about cel-shaded variants of three popular MWIII maps for the upcoming update.

There are also some recent patch notes aimed at creating better balance, including the attempt to reduce the COR-45’s rate of fire. As things stand, the next few months will be important for the COD franchise and its fans.

Stay tuned for full details on the WWE collaboration and the rest of the goodies included in the Season 5 update.

October is going to be a crazy month with Call of Duty 6 and Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, Undisputed and more releasing over a two-week period.
