Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 might be releasing day one on Game Pass, but it looks like another game will take the crown as the first Call of Duty game on Microsoft’s gaming subscription service, as new reports claim that 2023’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is coming to Game Pass this week.
In a new report by Insider GamingTom Henderson writes that he has corroborated with sources that the 2023 first-person shooter will be released on Game Pass on Wednesday, July 24. Rumors of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 began surfacing first by Windows Central’s Jez Corden, who reported Earlier this month, Modern Warfare 3 was reportedly coming to Game Pass in July.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the latest installment in Activision’s wildly popular first-person shooter series and is a reboot of the Modern Warfare sub-series of games. In our review of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer component, my colleague Stella Chung wrote: “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 reuses and maintains the same multiplayer as Modern Warfare 2 with a few additional maps and tweaks thrown in for good measure. That fluid combat system remains a comfort to players, but the slower unlock progression makes the game harder to enjoy.”
Rumors of a pre-released Call of Duty game come a week after Xbox announced it was raising prices for Xbox Game Pass again. The Ultimate tier will increase its monthly fee by $3, while the Game Pass Console tier will be replaced by Xbox Game Pass Standard, which will cost subscribers $14.99 per month.
