TOKYO — Canon is launching a flagship mirrorless camera this fall, following similar models by Sony and Nikon, as the company seeks to retain professional customers and fend off challenges from rivals as the top camera maker.
The most notable feature of the EOS R1 is the autofocus, which is able to capture the facial expressions of volleyball players even when the photo is taken through a net. The camera can keep the lock on a single target even when another person is standing in front of the subject.
