A while back, DoPchoice announced the SNAPBAG light modifier for Litepanels’ Astra IP fixtures. Featuring a tulip shape, the new softbox design makes setup easier and gives the Astra IP more control and possibilities. Let’s take a closer look.
DoPchoice, a company providing LED light retrofit solutions for filmmakers, offers a tulip-style SNAPBAG for the Astra IP in its portfolio, taking the popular SNAPBAG snap-on softbox as a starting point.
Easy to install and handle
The SNAPBAG’s tulip shape, combined with the fixture’s flat yoke, improves maneuverability and increases the downward tilt angle by 30°. The softbox features a parabolic curve architecture and DoPchoice’s proprietary Snapshape material, eliminating the need for ribs or skeletal rods. Light output is enhanced by the silver reflective interior, and users can control the quality of light with a direct-mount 40° Snapgrid and more available diffusions for a softer output.
The Astra IP SNAPBAG softbox is lightweight and snaps open for quick attachment to the fixture. Two elastic straps make adjustments quick and easy, attaching to the back of the light to secure the SNAPBAG. The Astra’s straight yoke allows for more compact stacking and storage.
Pricing and Availability
The SNAPBAG softbox for the Astra IP can be purchased in three sizes to fit the Astra IP Half, 1×1 and 2×1, and they are compatible with the original Litepanels Astra and with the 1×1 Snapbag accessories, including Snapgrids.
