Dyson, the company known for its premium home appliances and audio products, today unveiled OnTrac, a new feature-packed wireless headset with customizable earcups and cushions.
Dyson claims to use a custom Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) algorithm that features eight microphones and samples external sound 384,000 times per second, effectively reducing noise by up to 40dB. Powered by 40mm drivers, the headphones feature 16-ohm neodymium drivers and advanced signal processing that ensures you hear every note or word.
The company claims its OnTrac headphones can reproduce frequencies ranging from 6Hz to 21,000Hz, allowing users to enjoy deep bass and clear highs. The Dyson OnTrac headphones feature two high-capacity lithium-ion battery cells suspended in the headband that can last up to 55 hours on a single charge with ANC enabled. To turn ANC on or off, you can simply double-tap either earbud.
Available in four colours, the Dyson OnTrac is inspired by the CNC manufacturing process with options including CNC aluminium, copper and nickel, while the Ceramic Cinnabar finish gives it a painted finish with a ceramic feel. You can also customise the outer tips and ear cushions in different colours and finishes, with the outer tips being made from high-quality aluminium.
Users can connect the OnTrac headphones using the MyDyson app, which offers several features such as real-time sound tracking that monitors in-ear and external volume and a choice of Bass Boost, Neutral and Enhanced EQ modes. While the company has not shared a definitive timeline for the launch, the OnTrac headphones will be available in India soon.
