Dyson launches OnTrac headphones | Canstar Blue

Dyson is venturing further into the world of audio technology, announcing the upcoming release of its OnTrac headphones. These customizable headphones boast an industry-leading 55-hour battery life and allow you to mix and match the colors of the outer ear tips and ear cushions, allowing you to design your own pair.

While the appliance giant has yet to provide an official release date or pricing for the headphones, its previous headphone iteration, the Dyson Zone Absolute+ noise-canceling headphones, retailed for $1,099, indicating that the OnTrac won’t be cheap.

Key features of the Dyson OnTrac headset:

  • Active Noise Cancellation (ANC): 8 ANC microphones, 40dB noise cancellation
  • Long battery life: Up to 55 hours
  • Fast charging: 10 minutes of charging provides 2.5 hours of listening time and 30 minutes provides 9 hours of listening time
  • Customizable design: Mix and match caps and cushions
  • Comfortable fit: Microfiber and high rebound foam ear cushions
  • App Controlled: Control headphones via the MyDyson app

One of the most appealing features of the OnTrac is its high degree of customization. The earphones are available in four colors (CNC Aluminum, CNC Copper, Ceramic Cinnabar, and CNC Black Nickel) and you can then purchase different colored outer tips and ear cushions for an additional cost. This is a unique feature in the high-end earphone market that will certainly appeal to audiophiles looking to make a statement.

While the headphones appear larger than other models on the market, Dyson says the OnTrac has been tested on a variety of head sizes to provide comfortable listening for hours. Like other Dyson products, the headphones can be controlled via the Dyson app, although the brand has yet to reveal what features and controls can be adjusted here.
