ECLYPSE the new generation – Climate control news

Distech Controls has expanded its ECLYPSE connected controller platform with the launch of next-generation controllers; the 400 and 600 Series.

The new controllers simplify the transition to advanced technology, incorporating new features and improved installation flexibility that directly respond to customer feedback.

With a focus on resource optimization, flexibility and plug-and-play interoperability, these controllers will deliver efficient control of space, comfort and amenities leading to more efficient buildings.

Flexible mounting options and an extended operating temperature range on the different models are additional features that meet the requirements of future ECLYPSE Building Intelligence projects.

Kevin Ridder, product line manager at Distech Controls, said the controllers are suitable for a wide range of applications.

“The introduction of the new ECLYPSE 400 and 600 Series controllers marks a pivotal moment for Distech Controls, underlining our unwavering commitment to smarter, safer and greener buildings,” he said.

“These controllers are designed to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers and the industry, offering unmatched flexibility, efficiency and integration capabilities.”

The ECLYPSE 600 Series consists of expandable controllers for large equipment control applications, while the ECLYPSE 400 Series consists of mid-size equipment controllers ideal for air handling units, chillers, boilers, pumps and cooling towers.

The ECLYPSE 600 series can also be used in central installations and the ECLYPSE 400 series can be configured for multi-zone applications and rooftop units.

Both ranges can be mounted vertically or horizontally, making them perfect for panel retrofits or applications where available horizontal space is limited.

They also support different communication protocols such as BACnet MS/TP, BACnet/SC, BACnet/IP, MQTT, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP and MBus to ensure ease of communication, authentication and error detection.

They offer flexible networking options for isolated applications and fail-safe daisy chain applications. The two Ethernet ports and one AUX port can be configured to create separate networks.

While models with integrated LCD displays provide direct and secure access to the controller via fieldbus integration, models without LCD display support a wider temperature range, meeting a wider variety of applications and future requirements of ECLYPSE Building Intelligence projects.

All these benefits contribute to providing a versatile, future-ready platform with end-to-end connectivity to the cloud.

The enhanced connectivity levels will be achieved by harnessing the power of Atrius Facilities, a cloud-based building management platform that unifies access facility and maintenance systems.

By reducing the workload of managing building data, teams can increase the operational efficiency of their spaces. Distech Controls and Atrius are two product brands within Acuity Brands’ Intelligent Spaces group.

Plug-and-play interoperability integrates seamlessly with IoT ecosystems, services and data models while the IoT design, with its multiple networking options, reduces installation costs and contributes to network isolation.

Software-configurable I/O eliminates the need for jumpers, reduces controller handling and minimizes return visits.

The new ECLYPSE controllers are specifically designed for system integrators, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and developers.

They are ideal for applications in new construction projects including commercial offices, higher education facilities, hospitality and healthcare facilities. Additionally, they are ideally suited to renovation and reconstruction projects, offering significant benefits for those looking to modernize existing infrastructure.
