Elon MuskKimbal’s younger brother recalled a traumatic memory from his time growing up in south africa with his brother.
Kimbal, 51, is a successful restaurateur. He and You’re here Billionaire Musk, along with his sister Tosca, were raised by Maye and Errol Musk in Johannesburg in the 70s and 80s.
In a new interview with The temperatureKimbal said that “the value of human life in South Africa is almost zero” and recalled that once, while he was on a train with Elon, a man in front of them was stabbed in the head as they tried to exit the carriage.
“And he died right there,” Kimbal said. “A big pool of blood formed in front of me. And everyone on the train was trying to get out. So I had to walk through this pool of blood. I still remember how sticky it was.” [as I walked].”
Elsewhere in the interview, Kimbal opened up about his strained relationship with his father. “I learned what not to do, not just as a father, but in many ways,” he said. “Which is very valuable.”
In his 2019 book A woman makes a planKimbal and Elon’s mother, Maye, wrote that Errol would hit her in front of the children. “Tosca and Kimbal, who were two and four, were crying in a corner, and Elon, who was five, was hitting [Errol] on the back of his knees to try to stop him,” she wrote.
Kimbal also recalled seeing his brother get beaten up at school in the new interview: “He had obviously upset them in some way, but nothing that would justify beating someone to death, which is what they were trying to do,” he said. “I was just there. I couldn’t do anything.”
Known for his Mars colonization projects, Musk owns numerous other companies in addition to Tesla, including social media site Twitter/X, astronautics company SpaceX and neurotechnology company Neuralink.
Earlier this week it was announced that Neuralink aims to put his second brain chip into a living human being, despite the problems with The first recipient, Noland Arbaugh, 29, who received the chip in January.
The operation is expected to occur “next week,” Musk and company executives said in an update. After that, the company hopes to implant the chip in several more people (a number in the “high single digits”) this year.
