Solar fusion energy and lunar fusion energy are a key part of acquiring Necrozma’s Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings forms in Pokémon Go.
In addition to having the required Pokémon (Necrozma and either Solgalego or Lunala), you also need the appropriate Energy specific to the Necrozma form you are trying to create via fusion.
The main opportunity to obtain Solar Fusion Energy and Lunar Fusion Energy will occur during Go Fest Global 2024, both in raids and through paid research, but there is a way to get additional free Fusion Energy through promo codes.

As part of an Instagram promotion, developer Niantic is giving away codes that grant free Solar Fusion Energy and Lunar Fusion Energy on an alternating basis.
Codes and URL to redeem them on the official website Pokémon Go code exchange site, are as follows:
Starting Sunday of Go Fest weekend, all codes are active. It is unknown if they will be active after the weekend, so to be on the safe side, use each code as soon as possible.
How to Get Solar Fusion Energy and Lunar Fusion Energy in Pokémon Go

As of July 2024 (when Go Fest Global takes place), there are three ways for all players to obtain Solar Fusion Energy and Lunar Fusion Energy:
- Use promo codes leading to the event (see above)
- During the raids of Sunday July 14, by defeating Dusk Mane Necrozma (for Solar Fusion Energy) and Dawn Wings Necrozma (for Lunar Fusion Energy). You can earn between 90 and 170 energy per raid completed (thanks Jlinnenkamp20 on The Silph Road subreddit for their thread about this)
- Complete “Dusk is falling” branching search as part of the paid Go Fest Global ticket on Sunday, July 14 (Day 2) for 1,000 Solar or Lunar Fusion Energy, as well as the acquisition of a Solgaleo or Lunula with a special background
In addition, for those who attended Go Fest in Madrid, Sendai or New YorkYou should already have 1000 Solar Fusion or Lunar Fusion energy from completing event-exclusive research, depending on which branching path you took.
