Nexon has released a statement about the newly discovered and super-efficient Valby Farm in The First Descendant, which can rack up tons of gold, XP, and kuiper faster than anywhere else in the game. While other games may have wiped this farm off the face of the earth, Nexon is continuing its policy of not going all-out with nerfs, even if they often avoid them like they did with the Tamer’s Strength and Gley’s infinite ammo builds. Here’s what they said about it:
“To maintain our game and be loved by our players for a long time, we believe it is wrong to simply watch and leave out unbalanced content, which offers biased rewards.
However, as Valby Run has become very popular within our community very quickly, we assume that many players have been searching for Valby to enjoy the newly discovered content. The current issue is clearly due to our own mistake, but we do not want to suddenly remove it. As it has already become a solid content of TFD.
So we would like to inform you that we are preparing a patch that does not completely block the issue with The Fortress Outpost and allows players to continue enjoying the game as before. However, at the same time, we will update other farming locations to be as effective, such as The Fortress Outpost.
In other words, they don’t remove the farm, but upgrade other farming locations to be as good as this one. It’s… honestly pretty miraculous in this genre, so:
What is The Valby Gold, XP and Kuiper Farm?
Step 1: Get Valby. She’s not the easiest farm in the game, but it’s doable and she’s a fun character. Like many character farms, you get her either through Amorphous Materials boss openings (common bosses, thankfully) or through Void Fusion Reactors which are still annoying. But she’s easier to get than others, at least.
2nd step: Add cooldown, area of effect, and duration mods to Valby. Especially cooldown, because you need your 3 points to go up as often as possible.
Step 3: Head here on the map in Stronghold on Hard Mode, which obviously requires you to be in this part of the game. This is an outpost. If there is a timer, leave the area and come back. Or wait.
Step 4: You can do this solo or in a group, it’s not a big difference, but there will always be people in public instances. The idea is to blow up the tanks, then use your 3 water slide moves to go around the outer part of the arena, which will automatically kill the mobs that spawn there infinitely, and you can pick up anything they drop, from gold to kyber to gear and XP if you still need it on Valby.
Step 5: Don’t kill the boss. Just keep sliding in circles until you fail the mission. Then kill the tanks and farm over and over again for as long as you can stand it.
Apparently this can give you around 10 million gold per hour if you do it non-stop, without pausing to sort your gear or die (I’d also add some defense/HP mods). This is by far the best gold farm in the game right now and the best time to use a booster or component with a gold boost, which I believe can only be used in the memory socket.
Good farming. Looks like it’s here to stay.
