Honda Australia has launched a new campaign for the Honda ZR-V, highlighting how this SUV can handle anything the street throws at it. Honda Australia has teamed up with innovators at Creative Mushroom House to deliver a campaign that focuses on the only SUV with the Z factor. Together, the two teams produced a strategic campaign that asks the question: WHY Z?
The launch of the new Honda ZR-V campaign reinforces Honda’s long-standing reputation for quality, reliability and engineering excellence. Honda Australia Marketing Manager Terri Golder expresses her excitement about the innovative campaign.
Terri Golder, Marketing Manager, Honda Australia, said: “We are really excited to launch a campaign that breaks away from the conventional norms of automotive advertising. The Honda ZR-V is a real pleasure to drive, with surprising responsiveness and handling for an SUV. We wanted to boldly celebrate the attributes of this car and reach a new audience in a contemporary way. The Honda ZR-V is equipped to tackle anything the street throws at it and the Why Z? campaign is a great example of that.”
The Honda ZR-V is a mid-size SUV that stands out from the competition. Designed for sporty driving, it features a low, sedan-like driving position and a choice of turbocharged gasoline powertrain or Honda’s self-charging e:HEV hybrid system that delivers more fun on every drive. The Honda ZR-V is striking and sporty on the outside, contemporary and sophisticated on the inside, and offers enhanced safety with Honda Sensing and a host of intuitive technologies, including Honda Connect capability.
With so many incredible features packed into one mid-size SUV, the all-new Honda ZR-V handles anything the street throws at it – that’s what we call true street credibility.
Honda Australia has collaborated with world-renowned street artist, Kris Andrew Petit to bring vibrant, authentic energy to the countryside and create eye-catching murals in Sydney and Melbourne. Small is a respected artist in his own right who works with brands such as Nike, Gucci, the Australian Open, ADIDAS, Bonds AU and NBA, and he creates artworks that live in the real world by considering how people interact with and experience them.
The question WHY Z? has been painted on walls, laneways and street posters to become an integral part of our urban environment. To mark the launch of the campaign, Small will be featured alongside the mural at Honda Australia’s Melbourne office in July 2024, positioning Honda Australia and the credibility of the Honda ZR-V as the embodiment of creativity.
Small says: “Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to design cars. I always loved their shape and design and how much of it is inspired by movement. I feel like my work is part of the same universe, it’s inspired by movement, color and the world around me. With this project, I wanted to kind of merge the two worlds, the world of this car, its shape, its movement and its technology with the energy of my work.”
In addition to the street murals, Honda ZR-V has partnered with a selection of respected talents who have “street” credibility in their own unique way, including: Nikki PhillipsEach talent asks the question WHY Z? on their social channels to spark intrigue and personally respond to how the Honda ZR-V demonstrates its street cred for them – whether it’s hybrid functionality, sporty handling, style, intuitive technology and safety.
