An unexpected situation arose after a waste removal company allegedly went to great lengths to get revenge on a disputed bill.
Late last month, Laura Stark angry social media post A video about her dealings with junk.com.au has gone viral online, in which she described how she and her husband hired the company to carry out a wood waste collection, with the original advert listing the cost at $39.
She claimed that after the movers came, they were sent an invoice a few hours later, demanding payment of about $500 – and that when they asked for the amount, the landlord allegedly called and “lost his mind yelling and threatening us.”
The couple later found 23 used mattresses “dumped” in their driveway.

Appearing on A current affair On Wednesday night, Ms Stark was in the middle of an interview with journalist Seb Costello when she appeared to hear a noise outside, prompting her to go and investigate her source.
Outside, two movers in a Junk.com.au truck were seen collecting the mattresses.
Costello – and his cameraman – quickly joined Ms Stark outside, where he asked employees if they could help him get in touch with their boss, Junk.com.au owner Richard Furnari.
Days later, he spoke with Costello, where he responded to Ms Stark’s allegations and defended his actions.
“I think it’s very common in our industry,” he told Costello.
“You will find that the dumpster and container recycling companies, if you don’t pay for your dumpster and container, once they pick it up, you will find that they will dump another one right in your driveway. It is very, very common.”
He added that his problem stemmed from the couple allegedly refusing to pay part of their $514 bill – a claim they denied.
“If he [Ms Stark’s husband, Jared] “I would have said: I’m ready to pay $400, $300, $200 or $1… but he didn’t say anything. In fact, he wanted to pay zero,” Furnari said.
“He didn’t want to pay anything and even made fun of us so that we would give him the mattresses instead.”
He also disputed the claim that his actions were “stand-over tactics.”
“I think there’s a difference between standing up and standing up, and my job is to stand up for my people, my staff, my brand, my company, the industry, and not allow people to just have a hundred-thousand-dollar truck, two guys clean up their property and turn around and say, I’m not going to pay you anything,” Furnari told the reporter.
“You have to be careful what you wish for. Sometimes they would ask us to take them there and we would.”
Meanwhile, Ms Stark described the situation as “embarrassing”:
“All we wanted to do was dispute a bill,” she said.
“We have never missed a bill or a bill. I don’t think we have ever even disputed anything. We are good people. We will not scam anyone,” she said.
