Logitech G, a Logitech brand, has announced the Logitech G309 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mouse. The new device offers dual wireless connectivity, precision tracking, and reliable performance, all in a newly designed form factor that is suitable for a wide range of users.

The G309 LIGHTSPEED mouse is compatible with Logitech’s POWERPLAY system, which allows users to power the mouse without the need for an AA battery when paired with the separately sold Logitech G PowerPlay wireless charging system. This significantly reduces the mouse’s weight by 18 grams, the equivalent of a typical AA alkaline battery. The device also features the energy-efficient HERO 25K sensor, which provides over 300 hours of gameplay at a 1 ms report rate in LIGHTSPEED mode on a single AA battery. In Bluetooth mode, battery life extends to over 600 hours on a single AA battery.
The new mouse is designed to remain compact and lightweight despite the cutting-edge technology it contains. Weighing just 86 grams with an AA alkaline battery and 68 grams without the battery when used with the POWERPLAY system, the G309 LIGHTSPEED aims to offer durability and portability in an efficient package.
According to Logitech, the G309 mouse leverages the company’s proprietary LIGHTSPEED wireless technology, delivering a gaming experience that rivals most wired mice. The combination of LIGHTSPEED wireless performance with the HERO 25K sensor is said to give users a high-performance gaming experience, with responsiveness and precision reaching up to 400 IPS and 25,600 DPI without acceleration or smoothing.
The mouse also allows two LIGHTSPEED devices to be connected to a single receiver using the Device Pairing tool available in G HUB. This feature allows gamers to use the G309 LIGHTSPEED in combination with other LIGHTSPEED peripherals, such as the Logitech G515 TKL LIGHTSPEED gaming keyboard.
Another notable feature is the introduction of Logitech G’s exclusive LIGHTFORCE hybrid optical-mechanical switches. These switches aim to deliver speed, reliability, and precise actuation with crisp response. According to the company, LIGHTFORCE hybrid switches combine galvanic contact parts inside the switch to maintain the tactile feel of mechanical switches while integrating optical triggers for low-latency performance.
The Logitech G309 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mouse will be available in black and white. Pre-orders are expected to begin on July 9, 2024, with a suggested retail price of $149.95.
