Microsoft reveals second wave of Xbox Game Pass lineup for July 2024, leaving plenty of room for Call of Duty later in the month

Microsoft has announced the second wave of Xbox Game Pass programming for July 2024, which, unusually, only takes us through July 19. That leaves plenty of time for a later announcement of the long-awaited addition of games from Activision’s catalog, including Call of Duty titles.

This is the first Game Pass offering announced after Microsoft’s controversial price hike and tier change for its subscription service. Analysts recently told IGN that the Game Pass price hike is “inevitable” and warned that more increases, new tiers, and even ads could be on the way.

As for what’s confirmed for Game Pass in July, on July 16, Magical Delicacy (Cloud, Console, and PC) is available day one with Game Pass. This pixel art platformer lets players cook up magical delights from a vast collection of ingredients in your own shop.

Flock (Cloud, Console, and PC), a cooperative multiplayer game about the joy of flying and collecting adorable flying creatures with your friends, is also available today on Game Pass.

On July 18, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) will be released on Game Pass as a Day-One title. It’s an action RPG from A44 Games, the developers of Ashen. On July 18, another Day-One title will also be released on Game Pass: Dungeons of Hinterberg.

Microsoft’s second wave announcement is rounded out by Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (Cloud, Console, and PC), which launches day one on Game Pass on July 19. This Japanese-inspired single-player Kagura action strategy game is a new IP from Capcom. IGN’s review of Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess gave it an 8/10. We said, “Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a fascinating and fun action-strategy hybrid with unique gameplay and impressive art design.”

Xbox Game Pass July 2024 lineup:

It should be noted that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can access the EA Sports College Football 25 10-hour early trial now available via EA Play.

Microsoft’s July 2024 Game Pass second wave announcement takes us all the way to July 19, which obviously leaves a lot more time to come in the coming month. In a post on Xbox CableMegan Spurr, Senior Community Manager for Xbox Game Pass, announced another update, saying, “Let’s get gaming (and stay tuned, we have another update for you soon)!”

Perhaps the company is making room for the addition of some big titles from Activision’s catalog, with Call of Duty games including last year’s Modern Warfare 3 waiting in the wings.

Elsewhere, three games are coming to Game Pass on July 31. You’ll be able to grab them for up to 20% off before they release.
