How to Use Porn Books to Enhance Your Personal Pleasure and Sex Life

Did you know that people who read erotic fiction have 74% more sex than those who don’t?

According to a scientific study According to researcher Harold Leitenberg of the Journal of Sex Research, readers of pornographic books not only have more sex, but also better sex, because they and their partners become more adventurous and playful.

So whether you’re new to erotic literature or an avid porn reader looking to add a little extra excitement to your sex life, Lovehoney’s relationship and sex expert Christine Rafe has provided some practical advice on how to fully embrace your passion for pornography.

Read together:

Rafe recommends sharing the parts of the novel that turn you on with your partner. “Reading aloud to each other can be incredibly intimate and can spark new ideas for your bedroom adventures,” Rafe says. “To enhance this experience, consider using a remote-controlled vibrator or a couples toy that you can both enjoy while reading steamy passages together.”

Take notes and share fantasies:

“If you come across a scene that turns you on, take some notes,” Rafe suggests. Use these ideas to communicate your fantasies to your partner. This can be a fun way to explore your own desires and interests and identify commonalities between fantasies to explore new activities together. She adds, “Incorporating sex toys like blindfolds or handcuffs mentioned in the stories can bring your fantasies to life and add an extra layer of excitement.”

Create the perfect mood for solo sessions:

Reading dirty stories can also be a great activity for solo play, and setting the mood can help you fully immerse yourself and take your pleasure to new levels. Rafe recommends creating a cozy, private reading nook, even if it’s just in your bedroom. “Dim the lights, play some soft music, and keep your favorite toys or lube nearby to enhance the experience. A good quality lube can make all the difference when you’re feeling like trying something new outside the pages of your book.”

Use it as a sex guide for confidence in bed:

Why not use erotica as a manual for trying out new positions, techniques, or role-play scenarios? Rafe encourages readers to let the plots guide them in their solo or partnered sexual experiences. “For many people, drawing inspiration from their favorite characters can be helpful for future sexual encounters or self-pleasure sessions,” she explains.

Commenting on the study findings, Christine said: “It’s great to see Australians embracing steamy books.

“Reading erotica can do wonders for your sex life by opening up new avenues of pleasure and connection. Not only does it encourage you to explore your fantasies, it can also be a fantastic tool for improving communication with your partner and improving your overall sexual well-being. At Lovehoney, we believe that embracing erotica can lead to a more adventurous, satisfying and playful sex life.”
