Technically, the Shenji NX9031 features a powerful CPU computing cluster capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously and sufficient memory bandwidth for fast and stable latency processing. The in-house developed Image Signal Processor (ISP) improves all-weather, all-scenario recognition, enabling faster braking responses in emergency situations.

SkyOS Full-featured Vehicle Operating System Launched

“AI will become a core capability for smart electric vehicle companies,” William Bin Li said at NIO IN.

Wang Qiyan, Vice President of Digital Systems at NIO, added: “In the history of automobiles, there has never been a true complete vehicle operating system. Our goal is to provide users with powerful and safe intelligent driving functions, which requires a system that can efficiently manage heterogeneous computing resources and flexibly allocate them to different applications, ensuring optimal utilization of computing power.”

After four years of development and an investment of more than 23,000 person-months, NIO has officially launched the SkyOS full-featured vehicle operating system on the NIO IN. Designed for AI, the system features high bandwidth, low latency, powerful computing power, heterogeneous hardware support, cross-domain integration, flexible scalability, high reliability, and information security.

SkyOS integrates intelligent hardware, computing platforms, communication and energy systems, enabling unified management and coordination of vehicle connectivity, control, intelligent driving, digital cockpits and smartphone applications, achieving industrial breakthroughs in overall vehicle intelligence.

Launch of the next generation Banyan intelligent digital system

Initially introduced with the NIO ET7 model, the first-generation Banyan system featured advanced intelligent hardware and innovative smart experiences. The second-generation system enhanced digital experiences and introduced innovative connectivity features such as NIO Link and NIO Phone, as well as the industry’s first 4D Comfort Navigation.

At this year’s NIO IN, NIO unveiled the third-generation Banyan system, Banyan 3, NIOThe first digital system to be enhanced with AI capabilities. This system fully leverages advanced hardware to integrate the latest AI algorithms, intelligent hardware, native intelligent frameworks and cockpit applications.

According to NIO, the Banyan 3 introduces the industry’s first intelligent driving mode for rear passengers, improving comfort for those prone to motion sickness by up to 50 percent.

The new system also leverages large models and cutting-edge intelligent technology to reshape the cockpit experience of the Banyan 3. For the first time, NIO has live-streamed the 7.1.4 surround sound standard directly to users’ car systems. In collaboration with QQ Music, the Banyan 3 delivers “AI Premium Sound Quality”, allowing ordinary sound sources without surround sound to enjoy the 7.1.4 experience. For music lovers, the Banyan 3 introduces its own “Expert Equalizer Pro EQ”, which integrates professional-grade tuning tools into the car, supporting precise frequency response adjustments from 20Hz to 20,000Hz. In addition, the new “No Mic Karaoke 2.0” function, developed in partnership with multiple music platforms, provides an AI intelligent accompaniment experience based on native apps, instantly improving the user experience.his singing performance.

On the same day, NIO announced the integration of mini-in-car programs with the Banyan 3 upgrade. These programs include services from Starbucks, McDonald’s and WeChats Weread, offers high quality lifestyle services in Banyans users.

The Banyan 3NOMI’s emotional intelligence is built on large-scale model capabilities and native system intelligence, creating a new NOMI GPT architecture that accelerates NOMINIO added that it pioneered the introduction of the NOMI Agents multi-agent architecture, which rebuilds NOMI’s cognitive and complex task management capabilities, transforming the in-cabin experience from “single functionality” to “proactive intelligence.”

The first version of the all-new Banyan 3 system is expected to be available to users in late August this year.

China’s World’s First Intelligent Driving Model “NWM” Introduced

At this year’s NIO IN event, NIO unveiled China’s first global intelligent driving model, NWM (NIO WorldModel).

According to NIOAs an introduction, NWM is a multimodal autoregressive generative embodied driving model. It can fully understand data, has long-term predictive and decision-making capabilities, and can simulate 216 possible scenarios in 100 milliseconds to find the optimal decision.

As a generative model, the NWM can take a three-second driving video as an example and generate a video of up to 120 seconds in length. It also has inherent closed-loop simulation testing capabilities, having been thoroughly tested and validated in complex interactive scenarios.

Introducing NADArch 2.0 intelligent driving architecture

Additionally, NIO showcased the NADArch 2.0 intelligent driving architecture at NIO IN 2024.

NADArch 2.0 enhances the algorithmic layer by incorporating a global model into its end-to-end architecture, directly generating driving decisions from raw sensor data. This reduces the information loss observed in traditional methods and improves predictive capabilities, making the intelligent driving experience safer and more humane. On the model training front, NADArch 2.0 leverages the closed loop of collective intelligence data and generative simulation data, enabling rapid iteration of intelligent driving models using massive data.

In addition, NADArch 2.0’s end-to-end AEB algorithm significantly improves the coverage of risk scenarios, especially those that were previously unresponsive, increasing the response coverage by 6.73 times to ensure driver safety.

Based on the NADArch2.0 architecture, NIO’s NOP+ (Navigate-on-Pilot Plus) intelligent navigation and safety assistance functions will be upgraded to version 2.0, providing users with a more relaxed and safer intelligent driving experience. Point-to-Point Navigation Assistance 2.0 is expected to be available in vehicles in the second half of 2024.
