Welcome to the weekend, friends! I hope you have some fun plans in store. I plan on hitting the pool for a bit today, then hitting up a beer garden with my partner before heading out to dinner somewhere. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Today The New York Times Connections clues and answers come right away.
How to play Connections
In ConnectionsYou are presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to sort them into four groups of four by determining the connections between them. The groups could be things like horror movie franchises, a type of verb, or rappers.
There is only one solution for each puzzle, and you will need to watch out for words that might belong to multiple categories. You can mix the words to perhaps help you see the connections between them.
Each group is color-coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green are in the middle, and the purple group is usually the hardest to deduce. The purple group often involves wordplay, so keep that in mind.
Select four words that you think go together and hit Submit. If you make a guess and get it wrong, you’ll lose a life. If you’re close to getting a correct group, you might see a message telling you that you only have one word left to guess, but you’ll still have to figure out which one to swap.

A second straight perfect game today extended my winning streak to six.
There was an obvious red herring from the start for James Cameron’s films with AVATAR and TITANIC. I knew right away that those two didn’t go together, so I grabbed the greens and yellows in no time.
The other two groups demanded a little more consideration. I suspected there was some sort of pun for the purples, so looking closely at the words I realized there were four with a silent “T” in the middle. That left the blues with the win.

PS: I have a movie recommendation for you today, inspired by the yellow band. It’s an independent film called Gigantic and it stars Anne Hathaway and Ted Lasso himself, Jason Sudeikis. The trailer initially makes it seem like it’s going to be a romantic comedy, but the film is much darker, weirder, and better than it first appears.
