What is “Connections”?
The NYT ‘Connections’ is a puzzle game that’s been all the rage on social media lately. You’ll find people solving and sharing their successes and failures on platforms like X (formerly Twitter), and many others. The game is run by Wyna Liu, the NYT’s deputy puzzle editor. Connections gives players 16 random words that must be divided into categories they don’t know.

Answers for today’s Connections game (July 16)

Even though I started the day in a good mood, I knew the words in the Yellow category to start the NYT Connections puzzle on July 16. The Green category came next and except for the word Trial, I had all the words in the bag.
I am a cultured man. This, along with Google, helped me find words related to Broadway musicals.
With only four words left, I put them all together to get the Violet category and the NYT Connections puzzle for July 16th.
