I always call Thursday “Thor Day” these days, mostly because I think it’s more fun. And more interesting. And more nerdy. All of that. I just like to think about how days and months—how time itself—is shaped by gods and emperors of the past, and by seasons and celestial bodies. It reminds us how small we are, but not in a bad way. We’re part of something bigger, something that’s been going on for a long time and will, I hope, continue long after we’re gone.
Anyway, we’re here to solve today’s Strands puzzle. The latest game on the NYT Games App is a lot of fun, a classic twist on the word search games we used to play as kids. The big difference? Each letter in the grid belongs to a word, and each word belongs to a theme.

After typing this I realized that THREE words start with CH and the rest all start with B (two with BA). Weird!

I solved this in less than a minute, probably because I’m too greedy, maybe, but definitely someone who likes to eat too much. First I found BUTTER, then I immediately found BAKED POTATO, which I already suspected because of the “Loaded” mention in the clue. From there, CHILI, BACON, and CHIVES. The BROCCOLI confused me because I don’t think I’ve ever had it in a loaded baked potato, but maybe I just don’t remember. Then CHEDDAR CHEESE and that’s it! No hints needed!
