Hey Strands fans. Today’s riddle was a real brainteaser, and for good reason. Rather than looking for names, you have to look for words that sound similar, which requires a bit of lateral thinking.
Indeed, my first answer was pure chance, as I was searching for possible words. I came across MERRY in the upper right corner which was marked as correct, which gave me my first clue. From there, I noticed PEAT to its left, and I was off.
I would have to bring HAIRY and GALE to the right side to pave the way for the HOMOPHONES spangram, but then it was just a matter of filling in the gaps.
Appropriately, FILL was the next one I got, filling a gap I had left with the spangram. I spotted WHINNY next, hidden under PEAT, and that left only two in the bottom corner. I unrolled RUSTLE, which left only ATOM (Adam, I guess).
That was fun! I hope tomorrow will be a similar workout for the old grey matter…
