Onslaught is already being shut down after launching last year

After being announced in 2022 and then launching in Australia in August last year, free-to-play mobile RPG Mortal Kombat: Onslaught is soon to be shut down and has already been removed from the Google Play Store and App Store.

“We regret to inform you that Mortal Kombat: Onslaught will be closing operations in October,” a message on the game’s website said. official account X “It was an honor to create this game for our community and we appreciate the enthusiasm of our fans,” said the chairman of the investigation committee.

“Mortal Kombat: Onslaught will be closing on 10/21/24,” a follow-up post revealed more recently. “The game will be removed from the App Store and Google Play on 7/22/24, and in-game purchases will be disabled on 8/23/24. Players will be able to enjoy the game until 10/21/24.”

Understandably, existing and dedicated players aren’t too thrilled about the news that a game they potentially invested money in is shutting down so soon, with responses to announcement posts being a mix of empathy for the developers who are no doubt affected and anger at the ability of a game built on asking its players for money to be able to kick players out so quickly.

Mortal Kombat: Onslaught was billed as a high-quality, high-impact RPG with its own exclusive Mortal Kombat story full of fan-favorite Kombatants, massive real-time battles, a competitive community, and the same brutally detailed violence the series is known for.
