PAX Aus 2024 Indie Showcase Features VR Platformers and Sports RPGs

The giant video game convention PAX Aus 2024 is just around the corner, known for embracing all things video games and board game culture. This year, no fewer than 12 games that cross the digital divide and into board games have been selected as winners of the Indie Showcase at PAX Aus 2024, ranging from cute VR platformers to sports RPGs and everything in between.

Each year, the Indie Showcase is a major part of the three-day convention, a section dedicated to showcasing the best projects from local independent creators. Being included in the showcase is a huge honor for game developers; it ensures significant exposure throughout PAX Aus while recognizing a high standard of quality.

One of this year’s winners is The Rewinder 2an action-adventure game inspired by Eastern mythology by Misty Mountain Studio.

“Game development is a long and difficult journey, and being recognized for it is a huge boost for our small team,” said Felix Wei, Founder of Misty Mountain Studio. “Being part of the PAX Aus Indie Showcase also gives us a great opportunity to showcase our project to thousands, if not millions, of viewers.”

On the table side, MEAN! takes the form of a fast-paced card game with sabotaging your friends as the primary game mechanic.

“As independent game creators, the exposure that the PAX Aus Indie Showcase provides is invaluable,” said Justin Porter, co-founder of Mean Games. “Being recognized as a Showcase winner gives us an opportunity we would never have had otherwise, to share our game with this incredible community.”
