Pokémon GO Duskmane Necrozma Raid Tips

Appearing in raids: July 14, 2024, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time

DNecrozma Duskmane is a Psychic- and Steel-type Legendary Pokémon originally discovered in the Alola region. Necrozma takes this form when it devours the light of Solgaleo to fuel its rampage. Find out which Pokémon will be most effective in raid battles against Necrozma Duskmane, how to catch the Prism Pokémon after winning a raid battle, and how to best use it after catching it.

As a Psychic- and Steel-type Pokémon, Duskmane Necrozma is vulnerable to Fire-, Ground-, Ghost-, and Dark-type attacks. When choosing six Pokémon for your Duskmane Necrozma raid lineup, it’s helpful to choose Pokémon that have a Fast Attack and a Charged Attack of one of these types if you want to deal as much damage as possible. A Pokémon that shares a type with these attacks will gain an Attack buff of the same type, allowing those attacks to deal 20% more damage.

If you have multiple Fire-, Ground-, Ghost-, or Dark-type Pokémon, choose the Pokémon with the highest CP and best overall stats. Remember that the speed of victory affects the number of Prime Balls you receive after a successful raid, so use your strongest Pokémon and defeat Dusk Mane Necrozma as quickly as possible.

When you’re taking on a raid boss as a group, Party Power can give your Charged Attacks a boost. When you have more members in a raid, Party Power charges faster. When you activate it, your next Charged Attack deals even more damage! To make the most of Party Power, it’s a great idea to participate in Raid Battles with friends.

It’s also worth noting that when you include a Mega Evolved Pokémon in your raid team, all Pokémon of the same type participating in the raid receive a damage boost while that Mega Evolved Pokémon is fighting the raid boss. With their substantial CP, Mega Evolved Pokémon are already a great resource for raids, but that extra damage boost for other Trainers’ Pokémon can also be important in raid battles where you’re racing against the clock.

After a successful raid against Necrozma Duskmane, it will transform into Necrozma. You will have a limited number of Premier Balls that you can use to catch it, so make each one count. You can earn additional Premier Balls by battling with friends and defeating Necrozma Duskmane faster.

When encountering Necrozma, your chances of catching it are greatest when the target ring is small enough for you to make excellent throws. Throwing curveballs can further improve your chances. But work within your abilities: if you don’t think you can reliably make excellent curveball throws, aim for nice throws or great throws rather than risk missing the target ring entirely.

Necrozma won’t make it any easier to stay still while you try to catch him. Don’t waste your Premier Balls by throwing them while he’s moving. Observe Necrozma to get a feel for his movement cycle and the pauses between those cycles. During one of those pauses, wait for the target ring to reappear, then throw it when it starts to shrink to increase your chances of landing a Superb Throw or Excellent Throw.

Berries can help you catch Necrozma. A Razz Berry will make Necrozma easier to catch, and a Golden Razz Berry will make him even easier to catch. If you’re having trouble making a successful throw, a Nanab Berry will calm Necrozma down, making his movements less erratic and allowing you to make accurate throws more easily. If you need extra Necrozma candy, use a Silver Pinap Berry to make Necrozma easier to catch and give you extra candy when you catch him.

Buddy Pokémon with a Buddy Level of Super Buddy or higher have the Catch Assist advantage. If a Pokémon deflects a Poké Ball, your buddy can bounce it for a second catch opportunity!

Like all Pokémon, Necrozma is difficult to catch, so don’t be discouraged if it escapes. Catch yourself by stocking up on helpful items like Maximum Potions, Maximum Revives, and Golden Razz Berries and try again.

Necrozma’s initial PC range: 2,018–2,104

Necrozma’s Initial CP Range with Weather Boost: 2,522–2,630

Quick attacks available: Metal Claw (Steel), Psycho Cut (Psychic), Shadow Claw (Ghost)

Available Charged Attacks: Dark Pulse (Darkness), Future Vision (Psychic), Iron Head (Steel), Outrage (Dragon), Solar Strike (Steel)

Once you’ve caught Necrozma, you can fuse it with Solgaleo to create Dusk Mane Necrozma, which should be a real workhorse. In raids, Dusk Mane Necrozma is a beast armed with the Steel-type Charged attack Solar Steel Strike. Powering up a Dusk Mane Necrozma and arming it with its Steel-type Fast Attack and Charged Attack for raids is a great move. In fact, it’s poised to become the most powerful Steel-type attacker in Pokémon GO. Ice-, Rock-, and Fairy-type Pokémon that appear in raids have especially found their match in Dusk Mane Necrozma.

But Duskmane Necrozma’s reign of terror doesn’t stop in raids. The Prism Pokémon is also a powerful asset in the Master League. Armed with a wide range of attacks (especially its devastating Sun Steel Strike), Duskmane Necrozma is an undeniable threat to many of the dominant Pokémon in the Master League. Specifically, Duskmane Necrozma has scored key victories against Mewtwo, Dragonite, Lugia, Dialga, and Giratina. Of course, it’s also important to consider the Prism Pokémon’s weakness to Fire-, Ground-, Ghost-, and Dark-type attacks when building your team, especially given the popularity of Ho-Oh, Groudon, and Excadrill.

Trainers who want to battle Necrozma Duskmane should participate in as many raids as possible to earn the Candy needed to power up their Pokémon and teach it a second Charged Attack. Additionally, if you plan on using Necrozma Duskmane in raids and the Master League, it’s helpful to have two available: one armed with Steel-type attacks and one with the best attacks that complement your team or existing strategy. Either way, it’ll take a lot of Candy and Stardust to fully power up your Necrozma Duskmane, so get out there and raid early and often.

Good luck with your next raid and don’t forget to check back regularly at Pokemon.co.uk/Strategy for more tips on Pokémon GO, video games and the Pokémon TCG.
