A large drug laboratory was discovered in Bergen op Zoom, on the Heerlesebaan, on Wednesday 26 June. The police raided a barn and a neighbouring greenhouse complex. Five people were arrested, four were charged and detained for a longer period. Regional media such as Omroep Brabant and BN DeStem has reported extensively on the issue.
The suspects are four men aged 25, 58, 23 and 37 from Alphen aan den Rijn, De Lier and Rotterdam.
To combat this type of drug-related crime in rural areas, the police have been running a campaign for some time.
