Refrigeration Technology – Air Conditioning News

A regular ARBS favourite, the Reece Group once again presented an impressive stand that showcased the breadth and depth of the group of companies it represents.

Among the innovations that visitors were able to discover were SensR, Tecumseh’s ACPAC A2L condensing unit and R290 compressors, Arlan cabinet coolers and Prime brand R455A refrigerant.

SensR has become a remarkable innovation, described by Joshua Casula, Reece Group Brand Manager for Refrigeration, Heating and Cooling, as “the missing link in refrigeration monitoring”.

Unlike traditional cold room-focused systems, SensR targets the condensing unit, equipped with a quartet of temperature sensors monitoring different areas of the unit.

This proactive system alerts contractors of anomalies via a cloud-based application, enabling timely maintenance planning.

“It’s designed to be proactive rather than reactive,” Casula said, noting that the collaboration between Carel, Tecumseh and Actrol also means the solution is completely unique in the market and addresses a very real need.

Meanwhile, the Tecumseh ACPAC A2L condensing unit was another highlight, boasting compatibility with the low GWP refrigerant R455A, marking a significant step forward in sustainability.

Casula said the unit delivered a massive 96% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to R404a, significantly improving sustainability while meeting and exceeding Australian Government environmental guidelines.

Another exciting development that caught the eye was Actrol’s new label, Arlan.

It was a new brand that had only been introduced eight months previously, with the Arlan cabinet cooler making its debut at ARBS 2024.

Designed with installers in mind, Arlan features an ergonomic design, extended hose tails for easier installation, and a compact yet compatible size for seamless replacement.

It’s also designed to be looked at, with smart, sleek and sturdy construction.

Actrol positions the coolers as ideal for under bar cabinets, beverage refrigerators, wine cellars and small cool and cold rooms.

It has a small footprint and is very easy to clean, allowing it to be used by customers for many years.

Finally, the Prime brand was strongly promoted, with particular emphasis on the R455A refrigerant; an A2L rated solution with a GWP of only 145.

This product had already been successfully launched in New Zealand and Actrol was now preparing for its entry into Australia.

Overall, Reece Group and Actrol enjoyed a steady stream of curious visitors over the three days of ARBS:

“Our booth is very open and there’s a lot to see,” Casula said. “We have Kaden on display, Arlan, Codex, Smart Air, Rothenberger, Tecumseh, George Fisher… plenty to get people thinking.”

Overall, the Reece Group stand at ARBS 2024 is a testament to its tireless and progressive commitment to innovation, sustainability and the future.

Rather than resting on its laurels, this is a company that is always looking to bring new innovations and challenger brands to the Australian market, and has a proven track record of picking winners.
