The certification recognizes SmartThings’ achievements in information security and service operational capability, and serves to further strengthen trust with customers and partners.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.announced today that SmartThings, its global connected living platform, has received certification to the international standard ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for information security management systems (ISMS).
ISO 27001 is the leading global standard for ISMS and was established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The standard provides guidance for organizations to systematically manage risks to information assets and achieve information protection objectives.
This certification was obtained from the British Standards Institution (BSI), a world-renowned standards and certification body. To obtain certification, a company must comply with the standard on a total of 123 detailed points, including information security policies, access control to information resources and incident response, among others.
With this certification, Samsung proves that its SmartThings cloud information protection operates in accordance with international standards while delivering seamless connected experiences. This official recognition will further strengthen business confidence and competitiveness, not only among SmartThings users, but also among partners.
