Samsung has temporarily halted shipments of its flagship Buds3 Pro wireless earbuds worldwide, citing quality issues.
In Australia, pre-orders for the device opened on July 11, the day after its unveiling in Paris, and shipping of the device to customers was scheduled to begin on July 31.
However, a quick check on Samsung Australia’s website shows that the Buds3 Pro pre-ordered on the company’s website now have a shipping date of August 26.
Concerns have been raised about the included silicone tips being too flimsy and potentially tearing when a user tries to change sizes.
Samsung itself has now acknowledged a quality issue with the new Buds3 Pro in a statement released to Android Authority.

It says: “Reports have been made regarding a limited number of early production Galaxy Buds3 Pro devices. We take this matter very seriously and remain committed to maintaining the highest quality standards for our products. We are urgently evaluating and improving our quality control processes.
“To ensure that all products meet our quality standards, we have temporarily suspended shipments of Galaxy Buds3 Pro devices to distribution channels to conduct a full quality control assessment before shipments to consumers.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. If any customer who already owns the Galaxy Buds3 Pro experiences any issues, they should contact Samsung or visit the nearest Samsung service center.”
Separately, Samsung Korea also reportedly issued a statement to buyers in its home market, apologizing for any quality issues with the wireless earbuds and saying it would conduct a thorough inspection before the July 24 launch date. It did not mention any delay in the release in that market.
The Galaxy Buds3 and Buds3 Pro have been praised for their new Interpreter feature, powered by Samsung’s Galaxy AI. Samsung says the Interpreter feature will allow users to hear real-time translations of a foreign language in “listening mode” on the Galaxy Z Fold6 or Flip6.
This will allow, for example, a person conversing with a person speaking a foreign language to see this speech translated into their own language and retransmitted via headphones.
The Buds3 Pro have a “canal”-like structure, similar to the AirPods Pro. They feature a strip along the stem of the earbuds called Blade Lights, which allows users to control them by pinching or sliding up or down along the blade to adjust functions like volume.
Samsung has highlighted that the Galaxy Buds3 Pro feature upgraded two-way speakers with a planar tweeter, which it says brings “premium sound production” to the device. The device is available for pre-order in Australia for $399 AUD.
