Sony is banking on video game adaptations to exploit the potential of its intellectual property

TOKYO — Sony Group aims to transform games into high-quality television and film content to create synergy between the group’s intellectual property and make the most of the company’s highly skilled personnel and technological prowess.

Sony focused on expanding its intellectual property at its annual general meeting in late June. The company continues to make headlines for acquisitions, including Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, a North American movie theater chain it acquired in June, and Paramount Global, which Sony reportedly had an interest in but agreed to merge with Skydance Media.
