The 65-inch Sony X90L TV has hit its lowest price this year on Amazon

There are some fantastic deals on TVs at Amazon thanks to the 4th of July sale. Right now, you can buy the TV we described as an “overachiever” — the 65-inch Sony X90L TV — at the retailer for only $1,098 (instead of $1,299.99).

With its Mini-LED-like performance without the high price tag, this TV is the perfect size for most living rooms. It supports Dolby Vision HDR as well as exclusive features for PlayStation 5 owners. Our Sony X90L review raved about its high brightness levels, wide-ranging picture settings, and sleek design. The only downside is that it only has two HDMI 2.1 inputs.

Previously, the 65-inch Sony X90L TV was slightly cheaper as it dropped to $998 in November 2023, but this is the first and only price drop we’ve seen this year. Assuming you don’t have a time machine (let us know if you do), today is a good time to buy.

Today’s best Sony TV deal

Sony is one of the best TV brands on the market, with our only criticism being that it can be expensive. That’s not the case with the 65-inch Sony X90L TV, which offers impressive value for money. Its screen features a classic LED backlight with full-array local dimming, making it look great in a variety of lighting situations.

It also uses the same processor as the more expensive Sony A80L and supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG, making it a very well-rounded TV. Along with dual HDMI 2.1 ports for gaming, it also features variable refresh rates and Dolby Vision gaming support, while the TV gives the PlayStation 5 a run for its money with automatic HDR tone mapping and an Auto Genre picture mode. Simply put, it looks great, with the only downside being slightly below-average input lag.

The Sony X90L may not be one of the best TVs overall, but it delivers on many of the best features on this list. You won’t find a premium brand TV with these features at a lower price, outside of some impressive promotions.

Speaking of sales, Prime Day deals are just around the corner, with just a few days left until the big event. The Sony X90L could drop a bit, but we wouldn’t count on it. There will be plenty of other TV deals if you’re not sold on this one, though, or you might want to check out the current OLED TV deals instead.
