Palworld can be a bit overwhelming. You’re thrown into a huge world filled with unique creatures, gun-toting humans, and countless resources to find, harvest, and manage. And that’s not even counting the survival mechanics! It’s a lot.
Carbon Fiber is a key resource that leaves players stumped in the mid-game. This resource is needed for many unique items and crafts, but like many other aspects of the game, collecting Carbon Fiber in Palworld could use some clarification.
How to grow carbon fiber
The primary way to acquire Carbon Fiber in Palworld is not by farming Pals to obtain them. While it is possible to do so, Pals that drop Carbon Fiber are relatively rare, making farming a moot point. Instead, you will get better results by making carbon fiber.

First of all, you need to Unlock Carbon Fiber in the tech tree at level 35 for two tech points. Once you have unlocked the necessary technology, you need to build a Production Assembly Line or Production Assembly Line II, which you can unlock at levels 28 and 42 respectively. Your average workbench won’t cut it!

Crafting carbon fiber is a breeze once you get through the stages: complete levels and spend countless resources on a production assembly line (it’s expensive!). You’ll need two or five coals. You can craft charcoal in any furnace, but coal only comes from coal rocks that are commonly found in desert regions.
Which friends are ditching carbon fiber?
Currently, only two companions in the game drop Carbon Fiber as monster loot: Jetragon and Shadowbeak. Both are relatively late-game companions, only found on Mount Obsidian, atop the volcano, or, for Jetragon, during a boss fight on the northwest side of the island.

It’s a dangerous trek up the mountain, requiring heat-resistant armor and undergarments, which you can purchase from Duneshelter in the Parched Desert or craft by unlocking the appropriate tech in your tree.
Why You Need Carbon Fiber in Plenty
As mentioned before, Carbon Fiber is a necessity, especially for late-game crafting. You need Carbon Fiber if you want to use the most efficient and powerful Pal Spheres.
