While BMW’s upcoming Neue Klasse-based X5 is downright ugly, the next-gen Audi Q7 looks like a Ford from some angles. However, that’s likely due to the camouflage, which was simply digitally removed to give a glimpse of the 2026 SQ7’s styling.

The renderings come from Q Cars on YouTube and attempt to follow the actual design of the crossover. Nevertheless, we can tell you that the grille will be taller, the air intake in the front bumper will be much wider, and there will be no DRL stripes on the sides. The main clusters are located below the real daytime running lights, which were positioned under the hood, and they have different appearances and graphics.

You can also ignore the door handles, as the brand with the four rings has given the Q7 and SQ7 new generations of recessed handles. The side mirrors will be thicker and the roofline won’t curve much towards the rear. The test models had provisional taillights, but we’re sure the final production units will look nothing like the ones seen here.

The same goes for the other components, such as the rear bumper, tailgate, windshield, diffuser, side skirts and even the wheel arch trims. The graphic designer gave it two sets of wheels, both with five spokes. The model has red brake calipers and has no visible exhaust pipes, unlike the upcoming Audi SQ7, which has four, two on each side of the new diffuser.

As a result, we can confidently say that the next-generation Audi SQ7 will look nothing like this. However, these renderings do give us food for thought, as the alternative design language makes us ask the “what if” question. The model will likely be unveiled in a few months to a year, and there’s a good chance that the regular Q7 will be unveiled first, followed shortly by the sporty SQ7.

Both models will share the same cabin layout, with a sporty focus on the latter, and we expect them to feature a 10.9-inch passenger display, an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 14.5-inch infotainment system, likely lifted from the Q6 e-tron. The SQ7 will feature sport front seats, dedicated trim and upholstery, the usual S logos and more in addition to the regular Q7.

It’s not yet clear what’s under the hood, but it looks like it’ll be powered by a hybrid V8. It’s expected to be more powerful than the current model, which develops 500 hp (507 ps/373 kW) and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) of torque from its 4.0L twin-turbo V8, which takes 4.0 seconds to accelerate to 60 mph (97 km/h). The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and the brand’s quattro gearbox All-wheel drive So, are you excited about the new generation of Audi’s Q7 family?
