Just when it was starting to feel like it had been way too long since we last heard from The Plucky Squire, the joyous project in development at All Possible Futures and published by the folks at Devolver Digital, a brand new gameplay video has surfaced with a very good look at the game in action.
The video gives us a glimpse of a segment of the game where the main character, Jot, comes across a friendly rocket named Zip, who attaches to his back and allows him to do high-flying platforming. It’s an in-depth look at both 3D platforming and several types of 2D gameplay, and shows just how visually and mechanically versatile The Plucky Squire is – and how immensely charming it already is.
All possible futures sharing the new video on social media as well as the promise that news on the game’s release date is coming “soon,” which is incredibly exciting. In the meantime, check out the Sneak Peek: Rocket Ride gameplay video below:
We got to try out The Plucky Squire for ourselves late last year, and Brodie came away wanting more, saying: “Based on the levels I’ve seen in Chapter 4, The Plucky Squire is going to be quite the charmer. He’s consistently clever and sane, and I found myself grinning from ear to ear with every new string he adds to his bow.”
The Plucky Squire is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC in 2024.
