Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is arguably From Software’s toughest experience yet and it features a monstrous final boss, but it turns out that even he can be defeated with a single attack. With a little preparation, buffs, and an appetite for potions, you can slay a god. As a Twitch streamer Ainrun as the video below demonstrates, all of this preparation work allowed him to deliver an attack so powerful that it completely bypassed the second phase of this fight.
Warning: Shadow of the Erdtree spoilers below.
To achieve this, Ainrun drank potions like Wonderful medicine And Aromatic Blood Broth while activating buffs like Rally Standard And Seppuku. Finally, Royal Knight’s Resolution Ash of War was used to charge his next attack, allowing Ainrun to kill the Promised Consort Radahn with a blow that dealt 93,000 damage.
“This was the most damage I could do to Radahn using all the new buffs available in the DLC and the buffs from the base game,” Ainrun explained in a follow-up post. “I might cross 100,000 [mark] on weaker bosses, but I haven’t been able to figure out how to reach 100,000+ on Radahn. Maybe another time.”
For players who don’t always carry a small stash of potions, Radahn can technically be defeated without taking a single hit. As demonstrated in the Elden Ring legend Let Me Solo Her (now known as Let Me Solo Him), expert memorization, dodging, and switching between multiple Antspur rapiers can help you defeat the final boss.
Since its release, Shadow of the Erdtree has reignited discussions about the game and its difficulty, with some players scoffing at the idea of using summons to aid in combat.
While there are players who refrain from using this perfectly valid gameplay mechanic, those who do so to prove their gaming savvy are missing out on Shadow of the Erdtree’s best moment, a memorable scene revolving around the summoning of Igon to aid in the fight against the fearsome dragon Bayle.
