Mini crosswords
If you missed Sunday’s NYT Mini, you can find the answers here:
Today we have a rather silly riddle for you, but without a clear theme. It also tripped me up a few times. See how you do. But first…
The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper’s longer, bulkier crosswords. Most of the time, there are three to five clues in each direction on a five-by-five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.
Unlike its big brother, the NYT Mini Crosswords are free to play on the New York Times website or the NYT Games app. However, you will need a NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.
The NYT Mini is a fun daily distraction that usually takes no time at all. I try to complete the standard weekday grid in less than a minute. But sometimes I can’t figure out a clue or two and have to reveal the answer.
To help you avoid this, here are the NYT articles Mini Crossword Answers (Spoilers await you, of course):

This one wasn’t too bad for me. Two minutes is enough considering my intelligence level, which isn’t great. I recognized the one from Nightmare on ELM Street right away. SILLY GOOSE threw me off a bit because I hadn’t heard anyone say that in about 15 years.
The DOOM and GLOOM rhymes are appropriate given that Marvel just announced Robert Downey Jr. will play Doctor Doom, though I doubt that’s why he was introduced. I didn’t get the Gig/BYTE one right away because I was thinking about a job. But I eventually got it.
