Wondering what a reggae relative is? Not sure what an iOS alternative is? Don’t worry, because I’m here to help you with the answers for today’s NYT Mini crosswords.
The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the longer, bulkier newspaper crosswords. Most of the time, there are three to five clues in each direction on a five-by-five grid, but the puzzles are often larger on weekends.
Unlike its big brother, the NYT Mini Crosswords are free to play on the New York Times website or the NYT Games app. However, you will need a NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.
The NYT Mini is a fun daily distraction that usually takes no time at all. I try to complete the standard weekday grid in less than a minute. But sometimes I can’t figure out a clue or two and have to reveal the answer.
To help you avoid this, here are the NYT articles Mini Answers to the crossword for Saturday, July 20 (Spoilers await you, of course):

I needed 1:11 to complement today’s NYT Mini.
My strategy with the Mini is to move on to the next clue if I don’t get the answer quickly. So I skipped the first few clues until I got to HOT YOGA. I was able to complete the remaining clues before moving on to the bottom ones.
The 1 Down wasn’t immediately clear, but I got the others pretty quickly. This helped me figure out the first four clues in Across to wrap up a win.
