Top 10 Games in Australia and New Zealand

Which games have Australian and New Zealand gamers been enjoying the most in recent weeks? That’s the question we answer each week with the Interactive Games & Entertainment Association’s weekly Top 10 ANZ Games Rankings (IGEA).

The latest report, which covers the week ending July 7, 2024, didn’t really see much change from the previous two lists. Elden Ring remains at the top, and the rest of the Top 5 is filled with the same games we see week after week – titles like Grand Theft Auto V, EA Sports FC24, and NBA 2K24. Timeless titles, basically. The iconic green Mario managed to stick around once again, with Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD taking the 6th spot.

We’re definitely at a point in the year where the entire top 10 will be populated by these consistent heavyweights, with few major new releases to really break through. The fallout from the end-of-year sales and the start of the fiscal year with discounts on popular consoles, games and bundles means we’ll see more and more traditional products continue to come and go – Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the Switch version of Minecraft in this week’s list, for example. Our friends in New Zealand also seem to be continuing to feast on bargain-basement treats like Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and Batman: Arkham Knight.
