Developed by Player First Games with Warner Bros. Games San Diego providing production support and live management, “MultiVersus” features an ever-expanding roster of popular characters based on Warner Bros. Discovery franchises. The game launched on May 28 and is now available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles and PC.

The acquisition comes after months of layoffs and studio closures across the gaming industry, with companies including Microsoft’s Xbox, Sony’s PlayStation, EA, Take-Two Interactive, Riot Games and more taking a hit.

“We have worked with Player First Games for several years to create and launch ‘MultiVersus,’ and we are thrilled to welcome this talented team to Warner Bros. Games,” said David Haddad, President, Warner Bros. Games. “Player First Games’ brilliant and creative team will further strengthen our extensive development capabilities.”

Huynh added: “Our team is thrilled to be joining the Warner Bros. Games family, and we believe this will be a great fit for MultiVersus as a whole. We are committed to making the MultiVersus gaming experience the best it can be, and the integration of our development team with the publisher is optimal for players.”
