As winds shift from south to west, although still strong on Saturday, maximum temperatures will finally return to the July average of 20 degrees, leaving behind the chilly feeling of Melbourne.
The sun will still shine and even the winds will die down on Sunday. The constant of the weekend will be cold starts with 5-6 degrees as a minimum.
It might even feel like spring has arrived next Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures reaching 22 and 23 degrees.
It’s the second week of school holidays, with some families away for the winter break.

It’s the end of the Just Landscape exhibition at the Serpentine Community Gallery on Conway Street, Lismore. You can admire the magnificent landscapes tomorrow (Saturday) between 10am and 2pm.
Heritage Park is always a great place to take the kids on a sunny weekend in Lismore. The miniature train will run from 10:30am to 4pm both days.
Maintenance work on the Tucki Tucki walking track has now been completed and it is once again open to traffic at Goonellabah.

Live music at the Northern Rivers Hotel this weekend includes the Helio Ray Duo tonight from 6pm-10pm and the Sunday session this week sees The Verbals with guest Zanna Black take to the stage from 2pm.
This school holiday weekend there is normally no rugby or football on the programme. However, due to the very wet start to the season and some defeats, this weekend’s first round is being played in the NRRRL.
This means that the highly anticipated local derby between Marist Brothers and Northern United will take place on Sunday at 2:45pm at Crozier Field.
Both teams enjoyed big wins last weekend, with Rams coming out on top against fourth-placed Bilambil 50 points to 4.
Premier League teams from the north coast of England will also be on the pitch this weekend.
Tonight Mullumbimby/Brunswick will face Bangalow and Ballina at home to Lennox Head with an 8pm kick-off.
On Saturday, ladder leaders South Lismore Celtics will face Alstonville at Nesbitt Park from 3pm, while Goonellabah host Byron Bay.
On Sunday, South Lismore travel to Maclean for a 2.30pm kick-off.
In the Women’s Premier League, tonight’s game will be between Lennox Head and Ballina at 6.30pm. On Sunday, there will be two games between Byron Bay and Bangalow and Richmond Rovers and Alstonville, with kick-off at 2.30pm.
Fuel prices have remained stable this week. Lismore remains the most expensive place to buy fuel, with Casino and Ballina up to 16 cents a litre cheaper. Diesel is the only exception, with Lismore the cheapest place to fill up.

- U95 is 203.9 at the Independent on Wyrallah Road, East Lismore, Northside Liberty and Bakers Corner in North Lismore, 197.9 at the EG Ampol on Canterbury Street, Casino and 188.5 at the Metro in Ballina.
- U98 is 208.9 at the new Astron on Ballina Road, 202.9 at Liberty’s on Hare Street and Centre Street in Casino and 197.5 at Metro and Mobil on River Street, Ballina.
- Diesel is 183.9 at the Ampol Foodary Lismore Airport on Union Street, South Lismore, 192.9 at the United and NightOwl Puma on Johnston Street in Casino and 192.5 at the new Mobil and Metro in Ballina.
