Newcells Biotech (“Newcells”), a leading drug discovery partner specializing in the development in vitro custom analysis models and services to improve prediction of in vivo human outcomes, today announced the appointment of Emile Shaffu as Chief Sales Officer. With over 20 years of international sales and management experience in the life sciences sector, his appointment is part of the company’s commercial strategy to strengthen its position in key global markets and improve customer support.
Emile joins Newcells following a series of recent appointments within the US executive and commercial teams, as part of the company’s strategy to continue its expansion and technological innovation.1In his new role, Emile will lead the international sales strategy, building on the team’s rapid growth and commercial success over the past year. His appointment will strengthen Newcells’ global network, demonstrate a continued commitment to customer service and meet the growing market demand for novel approach methods (NAM) in drug discovery.
Emile brings extensive commercial and technical expertise spanning cutting-edge molecular biology and genomic technologies, with a proven track record of developing successful sales strategies and driving the adoption of innovative scientific solutions. Most recently, as UK Regional Sales Manager at California-based Bionano Genomics, he led the successful introduction of the company’s novel optical genome mapping technique to the UK market, working closely to leverage the technology across industry, the NHS and academia.
During his five years at Horizon Discovery (now Revvity), Emile held various roles responsible for expanding and strengthening customer networks for its portfolio of CRISPR/RNAi drug discovery products and screening services in the UK, Europe and the US. He also gained experience in the Nordic market through his role at epigenetics company Diagenode. Emile holds an MSc in Business Studies from Aston University and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from Sheffield Hallam University.
