Nintendo Switch Sports’ Free Basketball Update Is Now Live, Here’s What’s Included


After recently revealing that basketball is coming to Nintendo Switch Sports, Nintendo has now officially released this free update to the on-court sport.

As already revealed, the game features three different game modes, including two-on-two matches, a solo three-point contest, and a “five-sequence battle.” The game also features local and online multiplayer support.

Here’s the full rundown, courtesy of Nintendo’s support page. In addition to basketball, “several issues have been addressed” to improve the overall gameplay experience:

Basketball

  • Basketball has been added. It can be played in all modes: Play Globally, Play Locally, and Play with Friends.

Generally

  • Several issues have been fixed to improve the gameplay experience.

As you can see above, Nintendo has also uploaded a new teaser trailer showcasing both basketball and golf. The free update for golf was added to Switch Sports in 2022.
