If you own the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, keep an eye out for the next big update, as the August update could well bring major improvements to your camera. At least that’s what Samsung’s regular tipsters are saying. The claims of the ice universe. Better yet, this update might fix camera issues that users have been complaining about for some time.
Ice Universe claims that this update will optimize features like white balance, HDR, overprocessing, overexposure, video zoom, and face photography. However, they also add that there will be no optimization for telephoto or night mode when zoomed in above 10x. Which is a shame if you plan on taking pictures of the moon, I guess.
Ice Universe hopes that both of these issues can be fixed in a future update, but there is no guarantee that this will actually happen.
Still, it’s nice to see that Samsung is continuing to address some of the camera issues users have been experiencing. The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s camera has been a sore point for many, and a quick Google search suggests that people have been taking to various community support forums to air their frustrations, including Reddit and Samsung’s own community portal.
It was initially announced that Samsung would release a fix for the camera issues in April, but it was released towards the end of the month. The Ice Universe claimed that the update had been delayed until June. Obviously, that wasn’t the case, since it’s already July and the update apparently won’t be ready until next month. Clearly, the issues needed more work before they could be fixed.
It’s rather embarrassing that we’re almost 6 months after the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s release, and these things still seem to be an issue. Especially since Samsung is set to unveil two more Galaxy smartphones – the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 – at Galaxy Unpacked tomorrow (July 10).
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is still one of the best camera phonesand has consistently performed well in our 200 photo shoots — although it still faces stiff competition from Pixel 8 Pro And iPhone 15 Pro Max. So anything that can be done to improve the overall quality could give the camera an extra edge over the competition.
Let’s just hope this delay means Samsung wants to fix everything at once, rather than pushing out multiple updates.
