Samsung’s Galaxy Ring is sold out before it even hits stores

We all spend a large portion of our lives on our phones. The average screen time in the US is 7 hours. We use apps for efficiency, utility, entertainment, etc. We pay for them, we schedule with them, we buy theater tickets through them. My most used apps are Slack for work, Netflix for entertainment, and Samsung MyHealth for fitness. What are your most used apps? What do they do?

In a world that seems increasingly focused on fitness, there are a lot of different options for apps that help you stay in shape. Apple has a full-featured one that can connect to your Apple Watch and help you track your steps and calories even when you’re not on your phone much. Samsung has Samsung Health (which I use as an S21 Ultra owner but am looking for an alternative to), which lets you track your steps/workouts, nutrition, and body metrics. I find Samsung Health has some issues that make me want to switch. One is that it doesn’t have many foods in its calorie intake options, especially non-American foods. It also doesn’t have what I consider to be accurate enough metrics for input. For example, if you set the treadmill as an activity, it doesn’t give you an option for speed or incline. Because of this, I’ll be running at 7 MPH with a 5.0 incline for 30 minutes, but it’s still at the lowest power setting, so my calories burned will only show as 200.

I’m not loyal to any particular brand. I go where I like the latest technology or software. I own every current game console. I’ve never stuck with the same brand of camera because I’m always looking for something specific. I know it’s rare, though. Do you stay loyal to a brand? Why or why not?

We always hear about the pros and cons of being an early adopter. I always buy the latest product (especially phones) as soon as it comes out. This is usually a habit that comes from FOMO. Do you tend to buy a product as soon as it comes out or do you wait for reviews? Do you wait even longer to see if any bugs are discovered?

I can’t help but be annoyed that I can’t really use Adobe’s products on my phone. Technically I can, but they’re incredibly limited and unoptimized. I feel like this would be a game changer. It’s something I always hope to hear from any brand at their conference, but I never get to. Fingers crossed for Samsung Unpacked.
